Course Information
This course will facilitate returners to the job market with the necessary knowledge/skills to enter business or the financial services sector. It is also suited for those who wish to reskill/upskill and transition into these areas – including those working in the retail/hospitality sectors whose employment may be threatened by the impact of Brexit and increased use of automation. Participants will learn new technologies and their impact on finance, leadership skills, as well as accounting principles, and skills of financial data analysis. Other skills include digital skills with an emphasis on Fintech and related IT applications; competency in numeracy/problem solving; financial/strategic planning; and management/communication skills.
The Course provides candidates with an opportunity to upskill or transition from related fields and will ensure that they are well placed to secure employment in areas including accountancy firms, accountancy posts in companies around the country, positions in the banking, other financial services sectors and any other accounts related positions. It is suited to those who wish to upskill to meet the demand for newly qualified and part-qualified accountants or for those in the SME sector who require formal training. It is also suitable for those who wish to reskill or transition from another career,

No formal accounting qualification is required, and the course is suitable for entry level applicants who may have experience of basic bookkeeping or have had a role as an accounts clerk or a trainee accountant in a business/accounting practice or relevant experience.
The Irish requirements are listed below Ireland – Irish Leaving Certificate in at least five separate subjects (including Mathematics & English) with at least 3 subjects at Higher (ARD) Level (Grade C3 or above / H1-H5) and at least 2 subjects at Grade D3 or above / O1-O6 / H1-H6, either at Higher (ARD) or Ordinary (GnÃth) Level

The course is delivered live online and recorded. Classes are delivered on an evening and weekend basis. The flexible nature of the delivery ensures that participants will be able to complete their studies while in full-time or part-time employment making it accessible to participants nationwide.
Subjects
MA: Management Accounting – introduces learners to elements of management accounting used to make and
support decisions. Examines the nature, the source and purpose of management information followed by the statistical
techniques used to analyse data.
FA: Financial Accounting – introduces learners to the fundamentals of the regulatory framework relating to accounts
preparation and to the qualitative characteristics of useful information. Includes drafting and interpreting of financial
statements.
BT: Business and Technology – introduces learners to the business environment, focusing on the impact of innovative
technologies (Fintech) on accounting systems. Introduces leadership, management, teamwork, and communication skills.
MI: Making a Real Impact – learners will learn how to prepare CV layouts and cover letters, develop interview skills.
