Accountants are at least 57% more likely to move jobs through their professional network. Fact.

Accountants today have less & less opportunity to build these critical networks. With changing technology, accounting students are spending less time with each other in the classroom and more time, alone, online. Compounding this, people in industry/smaller firms do not get the same network exposure as those training in larger firms.

Combine these factors and you’ve got a problem. Accountants today are just not getting the opportunity to build the professional networks that will be critical to their future.

Accountancy School.ie and Barden have the answer.

On Tuesday 13th March at 6.15pm AccountancySchool.ie are creating a new destination.  A destination where early career accountants (at all levels) can meet other early career accountants and build the professional networks they need for their future.

On the evening you will get insights on how to create and nurture your professional network from our expert panel including:

Derek Howard (CEO and Founder of The Customer).

CEO and Founder of ‘The Customer’, has run training programmes on ‘Developing your personal network’ for almost 1,500 people in Ireland and across Europe over the last few years. In this session, he’ll explore why networking is important for everyone in business, share his top tips for networking and advise us on how best to make it part of our busy day-to-day lives

Sarah Goulding  (Senior Relationship Manager @LinkedIn).

Sarah is part of LinkedIn Talent Solutions, helping Executive Search & Recruitment leaders in the UK and Ireland to design and build a LinkedIn Strategy. Sarah will share her advice for accountants on creating and leveraging their network through LinkedIn.

Ed Heffernan (Managing Partner at Barden Ireland).

Ed is a founder and the Managing Partner at Barden. Ed will discuss building social capital to enable your professional future, he will discuss what networking is not, share some of his research and thinking on networking and talking about how he has seen accountants use their networking for career advancement.

Dave O’Donoghue

(MD of AccountancySchool.ie and Adjunct Lecturer in Trinity College) Dave is a founder and the Managing Director of AccountancySchool.ie. Dave will chair the evening event. A great believer in ‘you only get one chance to create a first impression’.
